Gabriel Genzano

Gabriel Genzano got his PhD in Biological Sciences at the Mar del Plata University, Argentina. He is Researcher for CONICET (National Council for Scientific and Technical Research) and Professor in undergraduate program and Doctoral courses at the Mar del Plata University (Marine Sciences Department).

Dr. Genzano is a broadly trained marine biologist with a particular interest in taxonomy, life cycles and ecology of Hydrozoa. His work has been focused mainly on species inhabiting subantarctic and subtropical waters the southwestern Atlantic Ocean.

He obtained Felloships from Matsumae International Foundation, SETO Marine Biological Laboratory, Kyoto University, Japan and CAPES, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Brazil. Dr. Genzano has also been actively collaborating on the biodiversity characterization of the Medusozoa from South America by mean of different grants from Argentina and Brazil.

Gabriel Genzano has been a collaborator in BDMY since 2014, he was the associated advisor of Sarai Jeronimo. He participated actively in three expeditions: Champoton 2015, Alacranes reef May and June 2016.

Further, during December 2016, Gabriel was instructor of the 1st Course of Meduzosoan in Mexico, next to others specialist Maria Mendoza, Antonio Marques, Rebeca Gasca and Sarai Jeronimo.
